Contact Us

Use these contacts to route a question about an official Kalamazoo County criminal record. Government offices, not this private reference site, hold the source files. The record type determines whether the right contact is the court clerk, KCSO Records Section, a city police department, or the Michigan State Police.

This Is Not a Government Office. This is an independently operated reference resource. We cannot retrieve an official file, perform a government background check, correct a record, or receive a set-aside filing. Those tasks belong to the responsible public office.

Need an Official Record?

Direct each Kalamazoo County request to the custodian that creates or maintains that record:

  • Court case files: see criminal court case records, or contact the clerk of the court that heard the case
  • Criminal records and rap sheets: contact the Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center and use its official forms library for a documented correction or review form
  • Arrest, booking, and jail records: use the official inmate-search entry or contact the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Records Section
  • Official background checks: use MSP's ICHAT or authorized fingerprint process, as appropriate
  • Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report; KCSO also publishes its online-report rules
  • Set-aside or expungement matters: review the Michigan Clean Slate resources and file with the court that entered the conviction

For sheriff-created reports, follow the KCSO records instructions and contact the KCSO Records Section, 1500 Lamont Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49048, at 269-385-6191. Written orders may be mailed, faxed to 269-385-6162, or filed through Sheriff GovQA. Court records are held at the Judge Charles A. Pratt Justice Center, 330 Eleanor Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Call the 8th District Court at 269-384-8171 or the 9th Circuit Criminal Division at 269-383-8837.
